The artist No 1: Bernd Trasberger

Bernd Trasberger's contribution to "Defining Space" deals with the heritage of the architect who built the Bastei - Wilhelm Riphahn. The estate of Riphahn, including photographs, technical drawings and other documents,  was among the lost and partly destroyed material of the collapse of Cologne's historical city archive in 2009. All found and saved material is being restored and digitalized by the RDZ in Cologne-Porz at the moment. Trasberger includes these memories of the work of Riphahn which are temporarily not available to the public, in his work at the Bastei.
